Provides assistance to the Supervisor in the overall operation of the centre and curriculum, ensuring compliance with all professional and administrative guidelines. Serves as role model to the team and provides direction and support through respectful leadership.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
? Diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university.
? Minimum two-years’ experience working in a licensed child care setting.
? Good working knowledge of all legislation and guiding documents related to licensed child care in Ontario.
? A recent Vulnerable Sector Check
? Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation.
? Up-to-date registration with the College of ECE’s.
? Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid
? Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
? Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
? Experience with program design and implementation, preferably inquiry/play based with the use of pedagogical documentation.
? Proven ability to communicate effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, caregivers and other professionals.
? Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional disposition.
? Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
? Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
? Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, photocopier and printer.
? Strong reading and writing skills.
? Valid Driver’s Licence and vehicle.
