Focus on Childcare

At Upper Canada Child Care, we’re actively trying to recruit and retain additional childcare workers to be able to offer childcare to more families.

However, we’re in the midst of one of the worst staffing crises in our industry’s history.

The introduction of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) System – also known as $10/day childcare – promised increased access to more affordable childcare, but there are currently not enough workers to meet the demand, let alone staff for the expansion of our programs.

Our business relies on people; without them, our centres cannot run.

There has historically been high turnover in our industry due to issues such as compensation. The following article highlights this need.

Our clients have rated UCCC 4.5/5 on our 2022-2023 Family Satisfaction Survey.

Our child care programs, summer camp, and forest school are child-centered and inquiry based.
