Programs
We value the trust families place in us and recognize that parents know their children best. Located within the community school, our program is designed to support families and adapt to a child’s changing needs as the move from Full Day Care to Before and After School Care. All UCCC programs promote health and well-being for all age groups by prioritizing daily outdoor play time in all kinds of weather.
Toddler (18 months to 2.5 years)
Next, in the Toddler Prgoram, children’s natural curiosity is nurtured through play and exploration. Educators build warm bonds and create a sense of belonging while supporting emerging language and self-regulation skills. Families can expect a flexible group routine responsive to needs (e.g. play, nourishment, toileting, rest). A daily record for each child is available.
Preschool (2.5 years to kindergarten)
Then, in the Preschool Program, children continue to grow through positive group experiences that encourage self-expression, social development, and resilience. Educators design engaging activities based on children’s interests, exploring literacy, numeracy, science, nature, and the arts. Families can expect a flexible group routine with periods set aside for play, nourishment, toileting, and rest. Preschool groups also venture into their communities and take part in seasonal Forest School visits.
Before and After School
Once they are school agers, our Before and After School Programs support children with active outdoor play year-round and activities that build independence, self-help, and social skills. Educators model respectful interactions and create space for friendships to flourish.
Menus
We restrict foods brought from home or restaurants to protect children with life-threatening allergies. In our Full Day Programs, two nutritious snacks and a hot lunch are provided. In our Before and After School Programs, children enjoy two healthy snacks daily—morning and afternoon—approved by a nutritionist. See sample menus below.
