Our child care programs, summer camp, and forest school are child-centered and inquiry based.
Upper Canada Child Care is growing in the Thornhill community. Construction of a new purpose-built childcare has started at our location at St. Rene Goupil-St. Luke CES, thanks to YCDSB and Ministry of Education funding. This project will support and serve the community with the addition of three more rooms and 49 childcare spaces.
Open since 2001, our location at St. Rene Goupil-St. Luke CES currently provides care for children ages 2.5-12 years. Post construction, this location will be offering childcare for ages 3 months-12 years.
Melanie Malan, Regional Director, stated that she is excited about extending our current childcare facility to provide services to a growing community by offering infant and toddler programs, adding that “We are looking forward to building authentic and long-lasting relationships with the community at large.”
Centre supervisor Marissa Stephens shared that the centre’s experienced staff are enthusiastic about this new adventure and that, as a long-time employee of UCCC, and as a Community Hub Supervisor, she is excited for this new beginning for the centre: “We can feel the excitement in the community as we see the progression of the new centre. Our preschool children love watching the bricks being laid and the machines work. We are counting down the days for our new home!”

Everyone is looking forward to the grand opening, which is expected to be in the fall of 2023.
